“Tree of Life”

art created by Louisville Stoneware and located in the popular Islands
Exhibit. This piece of working art is in a constant state of
growth as people purchase ceramic leaves, butterflies or birds to
commemorate a loved one.

Time-honored
Benches*
For a gift of $2,000, the Zoo staff will help you choose
a bench that currently exists on the 134-acre park grounds. Bench
types include Teak, Osage and Eucalyptus; or recycled polyethylene.
A gift of $5,000 will reserve a Teak wood bench in the beautiful Etscorn
Garden. A personalized brass plaque will be installed on the bench. The
plaque will remain in place for a minimum of five years. You can
select up to 40 letters (please count spaces between words) on a maximum
of 4 lines.
In the unlikely event your bench
becomes damaged beyond repair within the first five years, the zoo will
be responsible for its replacement. In most cases, the bench and
plaque last well beyond five years. Should the bench need
replacing, you will have the opportunity to renew your gift for a new
bench and plaque. If you choose not to renew you donation, the
plaque will be removed from the bench.

* During times of expansion or
construction, your bench may need to be relocated. We will make
every attempt to place your bench in proximity to its existing location;
however, final placement decisions rest with the Zoo.
Tree Planting:
A gift of $500 will provide for planting and on-ground maintenance of
a new or existing tree on Zoo grounds in memory of an individual or as a
tribute. The Zoo's Horticulture Department will assist you in
choosing the type and location of the tree.
