We are
excited to announce that this website recently
won 1st place in the international Project Polar
Bear contest! The contest, sponsored by Polar
Bears International, challenged teens to find
ways to reduce carbon emissions in their home
communities. We were privileged enough to
receive an all-expense paid trip to San Diego
and go to Sea World and San Diego Zoo, where the
announcement was made.
We are
very proud to be able to represent the
Louisville Zoo and want to thank the Zoo for
supporting us in this project, as well as
everyone who has signed on to take our pledge!
You really are making a difference!
Our grand
prize is a 6-day, 5-night trip to Churchill,
Manitoba, Canada—the polar bear capital of the
world—in October 2009 to see polar bears in the
wild, go dog sledding and gaze at the Northern
Lights. We can’t wait.
