WAKY Great American Date Night at Zoo
Make a date for WAKY’s Great American Date Night July 20. The date begins at 6 p.m. with tastings by Qdoba while supplies last. From 6 to 8 p.m., guests can paint take-home artwork compliments of Wine and Canvas.
Music begins at 6:30 with Elvis tribute artist Don Goodfleisch and Louisville’s own Caribou will take the stage at 7 p.m. Guests can also enjoy Zoo exhibits until 8 p.m. At sundown the classic movie Grease begins in the oasis field.
Treats for purchase include root beer floats, ice cream, popcorn and Kentuckiana’s first double decker hamburger – the Ranch Burger. Wine and beer will also be available for purchase.
July at the Zoo’ sponsor, Qdoba, will be giving away free burritos for a year for one lucky guest. You must be present to win and can register at the sampling station. The winner will be announced from the stage at 8:15 p.m.
WAKY’s Great American Date Night is free with Zoo admission or membership: just $5 admission after 5 p.m. (discount tickets not available online, must purchase at the Zoo after 5 p.m.). No carry in alcoholic beverages or glass bottles permitted. Guests can bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. No tents or canopies allowed.
