Hours of Operation

The Louisville Zoo is open year-round. 
Closed only on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Days. 

September - February: 
10:00 am - 4:00 pm (exit by 5:00 p.m.)

March - Labor
Day: 
10:00 am - 5:00 pm (exit by 6:00 p.m.)

Summer Evening Hours
The Zoo is open until 8:00 p.m. (exit by 9:00 pm) on the following schedule:

June: Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays

July:  Thursdays and Fridays  (no July Saturdays due to Roarchestra concerts)

August: Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays

Admission Rates
$.15 of every admission goes directly to support critical conservation programs.

Adults (12-59) $11.95
Children (3-11) $8.50
Children (2 and under) FREE
Seniors (60+) Discount Rate $9.95

Groups (15 or more) 
Discounts are available for groups of 15 or more. Please contact our

Your best value is a Zoo Membership (season pass) starting at $45 for Individual, $65 for Individual Plus, $75 for Family and $140 for Dual Family Membership to the Zoo and Louisville Science Center.  Click here for more Membership Information.

Train (full)- $2.50*  /  Train (half) - $1.50
(Purchase tickets at the main cashier windows or at the Train Ticket Window.)
     * The train may, on occasion, be temporarily closed due to weather.

Tram - $2.00  (
Receive a wristband that allows you travel for the entire day  Purchase your wristband at the front admission windows or at the Train-Tram Station.)
Carousel - $1.50 
(Purchase tokens at the carousel booth or from the token machine at the carousel.)

Weather conditions permitting.
Train/Carousel Combo - $3.50  (Available only at the main cashier windows or the Train-Tram Station)

Stroller and Wheelchair Rental Located on the front plaza.

Single stroller - $7
Double stroller - $9

Red Wagon - $9

Safari Vehicle - $9
Wheelchair (non-motorized) - $7 

(We have a limited number of wheelchairs that are available on a first come - first served basis.)

Wheelchair (motorized) - $25 

(We have 4 motorized wheelchairs/scooters. They may be reserved in advance with a major credit card for a fee of $30 by calling 502-238-5364.  A drivers' license/photo ID is required to finalize the rental at the Zoo.)

The Louisville Zoo accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express at all Admission Windows, gift shops and in the African Outpost restaurant. Discover Card is accepted at all admission windows also.

Location
The Louisville Zoo is easy to find and just 15 minutes from downtown Louisville, KY, easily accessible from I-64 and I-65.  Take I-264 (Watterson Expressway) to Poplar Level Road exit #14 and travel north.  Follow the black and white zoo signs to 1100 Trevilian Way.
