Taste of the Wild 

Chef John Bird and “Taste of the Wild,” the catering division of Service Systems Associates (SSA), an award-winning customer amenities company, are ready to bring an enhanced catering experience to Louisville Zoo events. 

Chef John will be working hand-in-hand with the Zoo’s Group Sales team to create memorable events with outstanding catering fare. 

Menus will also feature ingredients from local farmers and suppliers whenever possible. We look forward to enhancing your dining experience with new and innovative culinary offerings delivered with exemplary customer service. If you are planning an event, let us take it to the next level.

Meet Chef John Bird

Attended the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, a national center of educational excellence in the culinary and pastry arts and hospitality technologies.

Chef Bird has served successful tenures at Cincinnati’s King’s Island, the Cincinnati Zoo, and most recently as Culinary Operations Manager at the Ft. Wayne Children’s Zoo.
