Become an "EDZOOCATOR"
Want to learn more about your Zoo?
Want to experience the world of animals?
Enjoy working with people of all ages?
... Become an "EDZOOCATOR!"
Then why not become a Louisville Zoo Docent? Docents (volunteer teachers) assist the Louisville Zoo Education Department in teaching classes to school groups, sharing information with Zoo visitors, reaching out to our community through outreach programs and helping “to better the bond between people and the planet.”
Docent training begins with orientation and classes run from the end of August through November. The 50-hour course includes in-depth lectures, behind-the-scenes tours, keeper talks, and hands-on activities.

For those interested in this coming fall's training, Orientation Programs will be held on July 18 and July 20. Interested persons need only attend one of these sessions, which will run from 9 a.m. to around 11:30 a.m. There is no obligation by attending a session. If after attending the orientation, all sounds good, you will be able to complete the application forms for the upcoming training session this fall.
