Louisville
Zoo partners with Dare to Care again for special half price
admission and food drive – through Feb. 29, 2012
The Louisville Zoo is teaming up again with Dare to Care Food
Bank offering a special half price Zoo admission November 1,
2011 through February 29, 2012 if guests participate in a canned
food drive.
To receive the discount on regular adult or child Zoo admission,
visitors must bring one canned good per person and present it at
the Zoo’s ticket window from now through February 29, 2012. The
offer is valid for regular daytime admission and not for
Santa’s Safari, other special fee-based programs, for
pre-paid groups of
15 or more or with other discounts. School groups wishing to
participate by donating food items will receive a $5 admission
rate. (No refunds provided on pre-paid advance or online
tickets.)
Some of Dare to Care Food Bank’s most needed items are canned
meats, which includes tuna, pork and beans, hearty canned soups,
chicken and dumplings, ham, beef stew, chili with meat sauce,
ravioli with meat sauce, spaghetti with meatballs, as well as
canned vegetables and fruits, which includes corn, green beans,
peas, carrots, peaches, oranges, pineapple and fruit juices.
The Zoo is open daily year round. Fall/winter hours continue
through February, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. (exit by 5 p.m.). The Zoo is
closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
