Zoo animals celebrate Halloween with pumpkins
WHAT | Louisville Zoo’s Amur tiger and
warthogs will be celebrating Halloween with a special pumpkin enrichment
from keepers. Louisville Zoo Supervisor of Animal Training Jane Anne
Franklin will also be on hand to talk about the importance of animal
enrichment and answer any questions.
WHEN | Halloween, Friday, October 31,
starting at 2:15 p.m. with Amur tiger, warthogs at 2:45 p.m.
WHY | With more than 81,000 visitors
coming through “The World’s Largest Halloween Party!” presented by
Meijer, it’s the animals turn to have fun and get in on the Halloween
action with some treats of their own—pumpkins! Animal enrichment is an
important part of animal husbandry at the Louisville Zoo and promotes
the expression of natural behavior.
WHERE | Louisville Zoo (sign in at the
front receptionist desk). Please contact Kara Bussabarger at
