ZOO POOPY DOO!
Louisville Zoo sets fall mulch &
compost sale dates
The Louisville Zoo will host fall mulch
and Zoo Poopy Doo sales on September 20, 27 and October 4 from 8
a.m. to 11 a.m.
You can purchase high quality hardwood
bark mulch as well as Zoo Poopy Doo (comprised of Zoo manure
from elephants, rhinos, camels and giraffes mixed with hay,
straw and wood shavings) by the truckload!
Make your purchases at the ticket
windows (in front of the Zoo entrance gates) and then collect
your mulch or Zoo Poopy Doo in the Zoo’s bus parking lot.
Zoo Poopy Doo: $30 per bobcat
scoop
Mulch: $22.50 per load for small
pick-up truck
$35 per load for medium
to full size pick-up truck
Zoo Poopy Doo improves the aeration of
the soil, increases root penetration and water retention, which
reduces crusting of the soil surface. Mulch helps reduce weeds
and retains moisture. Proof of the effectiveness of these two
products is evident from all the healthy botanicals at the Zoo.
